Gunebakis Newspaper, 24 August 2009

The 24-million-year-old bee fossil, found in a Dominican amber can be seen above. It does not have any difference from today’s samples. This defies Darwinism’s assertion and proves that Allah created all living beings in a moment.

A 155-MILLION-YEAR-OLD SQUID

In the fossil record, there is not even one example of a living being to evolve from a different species through slight changes. All the fossil specimens people have found show that every being was created with its own specific characteristics. And they have never undergone any changes as long as they lived. One of the proofs that shows this fact is this 155-million-year-old squid fossil.

            Haberturk, 20 August 2009

            A 155-million-year-old squid fossil, which was found in Wiltshire, England during excavation baffled the researchers. In course of excavation, the palaeontologists who uncovered an ordinary-looking stone, encountered an ink sac of a squid undamaged for millions of years. The researchers, which removed calcareous part of it, succeeded in making it a writable ink, with ammonia solution.

ALLAH'S COMPASSION FOR HUMANS: DISEASE

As Allah gave people a lot of blessings because of His mercy, He gave people imperfections and inadequacies too so that they should desire Paradise. Sincere Muslims consider these inadequaces and imperfections as a blessing that Allah bestowed upon them. They thank Allah for them, and pray to enter His Paradise.

Diseases are examinations so that humans should desire Paradise. They should think about Allah’s blessings, value their health and thank Him; and thus, they should understand their inedaquacies and obey Him.

In their daily lives, humans tend to see many blessings conferred on them as a part of natural life; humans should remember it is Allah Who gave everything that they have as a mercy from His presence. For example, many people do not think about important blessings such as: how they walk without a problem, how they stand on their feet when they wake up every morning. If any problem might occur with their feet , it would affect their entire daily lives.

A foot that is unable to step and to feel painful , for a human, causes them to understand how much of a blessing it is to take steps a thousands times within a day. Muslims consider all matters like this, big or small, as a means to be near Allah. They will thank Allah, remembering how Allah gave them an immense benefit by granting them health. They know that Allah is the One Who gives and takes thier disease and they will expect the cure from Allah.

Every time they feel pain, they remember Allah, and keep their hearts with Him.
He Who created me and guides me;
He Who gives me food and gives me drink;
and when I am ill, it is He Who heals me;
He Who will cause my death, then give me life;
He Who I sincerely hope will forgive my mistakes on the Day of Reckoning.
My Lord, give me right judgment and unite me with the righteous;
and make me highly esteemed among the later peoples;
and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight (Surat ash-Shu‘ara, 78-85)

THE WORLD CAN ONLY BE A LIVABLE PLACE AS LONG AS THERE IS SUBMISSION TO ALLAH'S PROTECTION

At any moment, the world in which we are living continues its existence through the protection of its numerous stabilities of which we are aware and unaware. Some of these delicate stabilities are the rotation speed of the galaxies, the stars and the planets, their heat and density, the mass and the expansion speed of the universe, the sustenance cycle, the aquatic cycle, and the nitrogen cycle. In order for biotic and a biotic creatures to keep up, these stabilities are bounded with the process of extremely flawless and spectacular delicate accounts at any moment. Having a problem in the function of, or the deficiency of, even, one of these numerous chains of systems that are in an excellent harmony, would cause unthinkable impediments. So much so that, these impediments would perish the life on earth.

However, some people, who are deceived by the hustle and bustle of daily life, continue their lives almost without knowing these miraculous stabilities. Moreover, they never think that their own life is bounded with an extraordinarily certain process of these delicately harmonious systems. These people are only interested in their own little world, and they only care about the matters related to their little world; for example, small matters that one thinks about are the incidents that take place at work or school, or the relationships between family members and friends, or their own personal interests and issues . However, there are innumerable details around them that they need to explore.

After investigating these realities, and facing the reality of these extremely delicate stabilities, such as the whole universe's massive system , some people start having anxiety and fear. For example, they start living with the fear and the anxiety of being caught by a sudden earthquake or being struck by lightning. Of course, this is also wrong behavior. The true behavior is to see the reality that all of these delicate stabilities are totally in the control of Allah.

The Delicate Stabilities That Surround The Universe

There are numerous events happening in the world, a world, within a universe that rotates nonstop in an endless space. Each of these events demonstrates extremely great miracles with entire details. However, all of these are frightening for a person who does not have faith, and for someone who does not realize Allah's control and power over these events. For example, the bombardment of meteors, which happen at any time on the upper layers of the atmosphere, can lead unbelievers into anxiety. However, every moment of this bombardment is under Allah's control. This is because Allah has uniquely created the atmosphere that surrounds the world for this reason. The meteors that head towards the earth with a speed of 40 kilometers per second starts burning after entering the atmosphere by the affects of friction; in this way, the atmosphere makes approximately 50 thousand meteors harmless per year. As it is seen, this world is being protected from big disasters by a powerful shield called the atmosphere . Such a big threat would destroy life in the universe if left aimlessly; however, it becomes no more danger by the magnificent system that Allah has created. On the contrary, it turns into a wonder of creation that emphasizes the excellence of Allah's endless art.

The existence of the magma that bubbles up under the earth is also an event that would cause fear in a person who does not have trust in Allah, As it is known, the heat increases by 30 degrees descending into the centre of the earth. At the core, this heat extraordinarily reaches to 4500 degree Celsius. There is almost 60 degrees heat, in only one kilometer under the ground. However, this situation that interests everyone on earth is not even known by many people. In fact, through the tremendous systems that Allah creates, everyone on earth is safe from a potential danger that this situation would have caused.

Undoubtedly, there are countless systems that Allah has created in order for people to live on this earth. Humans keep living in this world peacefully with a spontaneous submissive spirit, without even knowing that Allah placed this in their hearts . On the other hand, Muslims are aware of these delicate stabilities, and they have trust in Allah with their whole heart. Moreover, they see the perfect art in Allah's creation, and they acknowledge Allah's greatness.

HAVING AN OUTLOOK THAT OBSERVES THE ART OF ALLAH

Within seconds, our eyes focus on tens of objects in succession. In a moment, our eyes see an ornament of the mirror’s frame in our room; afterwards, our eyes look at, an ornament on the wallpaper, then the switch of the television, the cable on the floor of our room, and the door handle. Consecutively, hundreds of details is what our eyes experience when we see. When we decided to stand up in order to go to the kitchen, in our way, we move forward by seeing tens of details again. For example, we see the detail of a farmer’s shirt on a painting hung on the corridor’s wall.Whether consciously or not, proceed by seeing new details from different angles..

In our home, we move about hundreds of times. Our eyes look at hundreds and thousands of points, from different angles, and many of them occur involuntarily and without our decision. We see all of this detail because every single detail has been predestined in the presence of Allah, before we are even born. It is Allah, Who created all of the details, one by one. Fate is composed of all those moments that extend in unison with one another, in a specific order.

A muslim’s concentration and focus on what Allah created, in all moments, beautifies his submission to Allah; it deepens his understanding. By virtue of meaning behind what he sees, everything rises in value. This is because Allah has created them all for us, before we are born, one by one, with an amazing and detailed art; He brought every instant of life into being. Let’s think about the creation, and comprehend the beautiful being of Allah with a deep feeling, with awe, with a strong love, so that we are near Him. He gave us understanding.

Allah commands us in Surat Al-Insan:

Has man ever known a point of time when he was not something remembered? We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing. (Surat al-Insan 1-2)

Humans are on trial. Allah has bestowed uncountable blessings upon us. In a moment, he presented atoms, DNAs, and the Earth, with its quadrillions of details from the sky to the surface. Humans have to turn towards Allah, as soon as we open our eyes in the morning. When we open our eyes, if the first thing we see is the ceiling or a wardrobe, we see it, at that moment, because it is in our fate that Allah predestines this. We wake up and see what He wished for us to see. Then, Allah makes us alive again and wake us up for a new day. The first thing we should do is to praise Him and pray to Him. Due to our fate, with blessings preordained for us for that day, we have to think eagerly about what Allah wishes to bless upon us, and we have to start the day enthusiastically, with a nearness to Allah. We have to pay attention to observe details of His divine wisdom that is composed of moments in succession in our fate.

To pay attention in that way, prevents us from being undiscerning for what we see. It makes us come to understand deeply, to acquire contentment and admiration of Allah, and to obtain His nearness, for us.

THE TRUE FRIEND IS ALLAH WHO WANTS ALL GOODNESS FOR HIS SERVANTS

Allah provided numerous blessings for his servants and created this life on earth as a trial stage for them. Every provision they will need, and like, had been prepared for them way before human beings were even created. The air they breathe, the birds that fly in the sky (each one more beautiful than the other), the plants that grow so pretty and in countless diversity, the flowers that bloom which are extremely aesthetic, unique blessings, the people they love, the most beautiful and cutest creatures that generate extreme excitement in the heart, a flawless balance system, and many more detailed creatures, were created by Allah for Himself.

Humans find everything that they need as ready when they come to life. They are all endowed with great comfort. Everything is proper to its own sizes and life conditions. Fruits, food, and the whole world, with the every single detail, are completely suitable for the life conditions of human beings. However, humans almost never show any effort to obtain these. They are faced with an excellent balance and harmony. All of these are created by Allah up to the tiniest details. Moreover, for the life on earth, which is in the trial stage, Allah sent a holy book via His prophets which contains everything in it to make it as a guidance for His servants. This holy book contains every issue that humans need to address and that clearly explains the ways of attaining Allah's sake: "... We have not omitted anything from the Book – then they will be gathered to their Lord.” (Surat al-An'am, 38)

Allah sent this guidance, a holy book, that distinguishes right from wrong, that depicts the behaviors which would be suitable for Allah's sake, that is full of wisdom, and which completely explains every issue that is needed to be known:

This is a Book We have sent down to you so that you can bring mankind from the darkness to the light, by the permission of their Lord, to the Path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy. (Surah Ibrahim, 1)

For humans who find everything ready with the most comprehensive details, it is their task to live their life according to the morals of the Quran and based on the orders and advices Allah gives. As a servant who is turning towards Allah, who is the real Friend and for whom He created the most beautiful details with His endless wisdom, it is important to shape his life suitable for the sake of Allah, who is his Protector. That is Allah, who is to be liked, to be remembered, to be exalted, to be trusted, to be merited, and to be turned towards as a real Friend because He bestowed everything to human beings even before humans knew these. Allah is the only Protector of those who know that Allah is the only Friend, who takes shelter in His power and strength, and who trusts His supreme wisdom and mercy.

A person who knows that everything Allah created is good, prosperous, and a revelation of a supreme wisdom, would only trust his Lord and would only take shelter in Him. Therefore, in this world that is created as a trial stage, one of the fundamental features of a believing person should be trust in Allah. Trust in Allah is a person's reliance to Allah and to accept Him as his trustee. It is the requirement of faith to have a deep trust in Allah if a Muslim recognizes that every moment and every event that he deals with is created by Allah. That is one of the most essential features of faith--to show submission to Allah who created humans when they were nothing and who surrounds humans with His blessings everywhere. There is no one else to accept as a trustee other than Allah who creates goodness with constant and endless good morals. Therefore, Allah is the only presence to have trust in for a Muslim who lives according to the morals of the Quran. Allah orders that: “And put your trust in Allah. Allah suffices as a Guardian.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 3)

TRUST IN ALLAH IS A WHOLE THAT CAN NOT BE SEPERATED AS MINOR OR MAJOR ISSUES

Because a Muslim's mind is affiliated with the Qur’an, every verse has the feature of a building block shaping one’s personality. For this reason, a Muslim is always tuned to fulfill good, auspicious and beneficial deeds. A Muslim would not separate issues according to his mind. All his assessments are based on the Qur’an.

Some people, in their own eyes, might consider some issues to be personal and thus belittle them and make different differentiations. However, many attitudes assumed because they are thought to be personal might not be compatible with the Qur’an. Some people may be shaken and lose their trust in Allah because of some minor issues while some others may lose their trust in Allah in the face of a disease, death or property loss. However, as long as a person, in the guidance of the Qur’an, remains watchful against satan’s and lives the comfort of trusting in Allah, making Him his friend and companion, all these issues become minor one that can be readily avoided.

The Qur’an makes a clear distinction between good deeds and misdeeds. Allah commands human beings to engage in good deeds and display favorable manners. He commands responding evil with goodness, being forgiving and disclaiming one’s rights even if one is right and many similar favorable moral values. In one verse, Allah commands that goodness and evil are not the same:

A good action and a bad action are not the same. Repel the bad with something better and, if there is enmity between you and someone else, he will be like a bosom friend. (Surah Fussilat, 34)

Some people may be negatively affected by trivial issues to an unexpected degree. On the other hand, while an incident which seems to be important and serious is expected to challenge one’s lower self, it may not have the slightest impact on a person. An unexpected minor matter, on the other hand, may prove to be quite challenging for one’s lower self.

For instance a harm given to a very precious good of a person may not negatively affect that person. He may display steadfastness, thinking that there is an absolute good in it and expresses that Allah creates such an incident with goodness. He displays a beautiful submission in Allah, deeming it is something that can be compensated and that it is not a big loss.

However, the same person might unexpectedly negatively affected by someone’s statement or mimic and cannot display the same trust in Allah. He may feel disturbed by a behavior, mimic or word of a friend and, in his own way, attach a special meaning to them. He thinks that, out of jealousy, the other person employs an insidious method to annoy and humiliate him covertly so that other people would not understand him. Then in almost all of his behaviors, he seeks clues that will justify this conviction. An extremely insignificant issue may prove to be phenomenally important for this person and occupy his mind more than any other thing. All his thoughts center around this issue and he considers various possibilities. Deriving different conclusions from the behaviors of the other party and attaching meanings in the light of his judgments, he may put himself into unprecedented trouble.

He forgets that the other party is a helpless being entirely under the sway of Allah, and that every incident, every mimic and every character is created in destiny by Allah. He ignores the fact that Allah might have created that person to put his morality into trial and he should be the one that shows mature behavior. Indeed, Allah states that He created some humans to examine others:

We never sent any Messengers before you who did not eat food and walk in the market-place. But We have made some of you a trial for others to see if you will be steadfast? Your Lord sees everything. (Surat al-Furqan, 20 )

Everything is a trial for a human’s life in the Hereafter. As it is indicated in the verse, what is required from a person of faith is to persevere. Assessing the issues with a conscious and pure mind and keeping in mind that these issues are part of the trial is an indicator of a Muslim consciousness.

If a person makes distinctions in his mind, deeming some issues to be different, he would simply be mistaken. There are no minor or major issues. Everything is a whole. And, one of the major issues with which a Muslim is put to test is to display good manners for the good pleasure of Allah, and to be on Allah’s side against the lower self, not to be on the lower self’s side. What befalls him is to live as a Muslim, and assume thoughts and attitudes which would please Allah throughout his life.

During his lifetime, a person comes across with various characters that are different from one another. There are many characters that Allah describes us in the Quran. Polytheists, hypocrites, deviators, and believers… Not every one is the same. Humans exhibit their characters based on the degree of the fear of Allah they have. However, the moral structure of the other person should never affect a sincere believer. It should never let him fall into a fallacy. A related verse reads:

So be steadfast. Allah’s promise is true. Do not let those who have no certainty belittle you. (Surat ar-Rum, 60)

A Muslim should never take others as an example, and follow one’s behavior when they are mistaken. Even though a person says that he is a believer, his fear of Allah might be weak and deficient; no one knows it but Allah. Therefore, if a person is a sincere believer, then the true path is out in the open. The morality others display can by no means be a measure.

What befalls a sincere believer who has fear of Allah is to uncompromisingly display the good behaviors which would please Allah. Avoiding ignorant behaviors, it is his responsibility to act wisely and display a mature attitude, and put his trust in Allah and persevere in the face of disturbing situations. Because Allah commands: Make allowances for people, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant. (Surat al-Araf, 199)

A wise, faithful person’s manners are always noble and dignified that would make up for failures. Because of his profound devotion to Allah and his fear of Him being the foremost, he does not shape his behaviors according to other people’s attitudes. For his life in the Hereafter, he displays the best of morality as he can and turns to Allah, trusting in Him, under all conditions.

One should assess the incidents he encounters with seeing the good and blessing in them, without discriminating them as important or insignificant with the attitude and trust in Allah becoming to a Muslim. One can not know what is important or insignificant in Allah’s Sight and classify issues as “minor” or “major” according to his own mind. What befalls a believers is to display a steady character who turns to Allah, fears Him and puts his trust in Allah.

SOCIETIES DISTANT TO THE MORAL VALUES OF THE QUR'AN GROW AWAY FROM GENUINE LOVE

In societies distant to the moral values of the religion, people display all unfavorable manners such as insincerity, jealousy, desire to give harm to others, hatred and anger. People who do not live by the moral values of the Qur'an fail to sincerely love and respect one another. Consequently, they experience a relationship bereft of humane values. Such relations deprived of sacrifice, heartiness and sincere affection pose a threat for the society as a whole. All people who commit murder, injure people, get into fight, run riot, engage in theft are those who do not experience and feel the beauty of love. They are those who are distant to moral values brought by religion.

However, people may not understand the importance of this threat. Because, in a society, this formation does not appear all of a sudden. People who, in time, grow away from favorable feelings brought by moral values of the religion, also live without love and respect towards one another. They begin not to appreciate the importance of these beauties. Then, gradually, charity fades out, which can be clearly felt in human relations. For instance, while people help one another, they may think that helping others would cause making concession from their self-interests. Also, they may be snared by satan into thinking, “How will I benefit from it?”. Meanwhile they may wrongly think, “if there is no solid benefit to gain, then there is no meaning in helping others”. Thus, a growing number of corrupted role-models who only take self-interests into consideration appear in society. Corruption in relations among people and increase in crime rates are common in socities in which compassion, mercy and fellowship are replaced with anger, conflicts and hostility.

A comprehensive research conducted in Britain with the Anglican church’s contribution reveals the serious dimensions of the social problems and risks teens encounter. According to the research, egoism, greed, and individualist culture negatively affect young people. Thus it is of great importance for families and children to undergo primary education on love and moral values. The report in question also stresses the negative effect of parents' personal ambitions on their children and concludes “excessive individualism” to be the major problem in social relations. There is one conclusion sociologists derived from this research: “Individualism should be replaced with moral values and to be affectionate, self-sacrificing and charitable is better than chasing self-interests.”

The only solution to prevent degeneration, social problems and crimes in society is to live by the moral values of the Qur'an. A genuine Muslim makes sacrifices to earn Allah's good pleasure and, obeying one of Allah’s commandments in the Qur’an, speaks good words. This makes him feel relieved. Hoping Allah's good pleasure, he treats people generously and attains peace and happiness in return. Because he loves Allah, he loves everything, for they are created by Allah and sent to him as blessings. Moreover, he loves people, not expecting anything in return. A Muslim always feels contended, for he experiences all the beauties created by Allah in his spirit. It is evident that a society living by such moral values will be complately at ease, and enjoy material and spiritual prosperity.

Allah states in the Qur’an that genuine Muslims will be in bliss both in this world and the Hereafter. The related verses read:

Anyone who acts rightly, male or female, being a believer, We will give them a good life and We will recompense them according to the best of what they did. (Surat an-Nahl, 97)

We gave him good in the world and in the Hereafter he will be one of the righteous. (Surat an-Nahl, 122)

THE QUR'AN: A MANIFESTATION OF ALLAH'S MERCY

The Qur’an is Allah’s generous gift to humanity, a great manifestation of His name the All Merciful, Most Merciful. The Qur’an is the main source from which people will learn about the true religion. The Qur’an is the word of Allah, Who created the universe from nothing, has perfect knowledge of everything, and has infinite mercy. The Qur’an is a blessing from our Lord:

… a revelation from the All-Merciful, the Most Merciful, a Book whose verses have been explained in detail, for people who know, as a Qur’an in Arabic. (Surah Fussilat, 2-3)

On that Day, We will raise up among every community a witness against them from among themselves and bring you as a witness against them. We have sent down the Book to you, making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl, 89)

We have brought them a Book elucidating everything with knowledge, as guidance and a mercy for believers. (Surat al-A’raf, 52)

Allah, in a great manifestation of His mercy, sent down books to teach people, explain His decrees, and reveal Himself to them. Through His own words and wisdom, He showed them what they did not know. When these holy books were corrupted, He sent new messengers and revealed that the Qur’an would be protected until the Day of Judgment.

The Qur’an is Allah’s last divinely revealed book, and Allah’s protection of it is a mercy to humanity:

Nor can you say: “If the Book had been sent down to us, We would have been better guided than they were.” For a Clear Sign has come to you from your Lord, and guidance and mercy. Who could do greater wrong than someone who denies Allah’s Signs and turns away from them? We will repay those who turn away from Our Signs with the worst kind of punishment, because they turned away. (Surat al-An’am, 157)

The Qur’an’s simple and clear style enables everyone to understand its perfect wisdom. Therefore, they can learn from the Qur’an’s contents by reading and understanding the wisdom within the Qur’an concerning life in this world and the Hereafter:

“We have sent down to you a Book containing your Reminder. So, will you not use your intellect?” (Surat al-An’am, 10) and “We have not omitted anything from the Book” (Surat al-An’am, 38).

The Qur’an, which contains clear truths and is a sure guide to the straight path, reveals the truest knowledge on every truth that Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Therefore, those who live by the Qur’an and the Prophet’s sayings (hadiths) will obtain Allah’s mercy and guidance:

This Qur’an guides to the most upright Way and gives good news to the believers who do right actions that they will have a large reward. (Surat al-Isra, 9)

This is clear insight for humanity and guidance and mercy for people with certainty. (Surat al-Jathiyya, 20)

Those who choose the Qur’an and our Prophet’s way (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) will lead a life that is not like that of the unbelievers. For example, they are not anxious, discontented, fearful, worried, despairing, pessimistic, or overcome by panic in difficult situations.

They always conform to Allah’s decrees, regardless of the surrounding circumstances. Their every decision, word, and action indicates that they follow the Qur’an’s moral teachings. As a result, they always have a clear conscience and experience the ensuing spiritual contentment, well-being, and joy that Allah, in His mercy, grants those who live according to the Qur’an’s moral teachings:

O humanity! Admonition has come to you from your Lord, as well as healing for what is in the breasts and guidance, and mercy for the believers. (Surah Yunus, 57)

The Qur’an has been sent to all humanity, but it guides to the straight path only for those who fear and respect Allah and who believe in the Hereafter. It is a proof of His compassion for His sincere servants:

“Am I to desire someone other than Allah as a judge, when it is He Who has sent down the Book to you clarifying everything?” Those to whom We have given the Book know it has been sent down from your Lord with truth, so on no account be among the doubters. (Surat al-An’am, 114)

On that Day, We will raise up among every community a witness against them from among themselves, and bring you as a witness against them. We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear, and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl, 89)

Those are the Signs of the Wise Book. Guidance and mercy for the good-doers. (Surah Luqman, 2-3)

O humanity! Admonition has come to you from your Lord and also healing for what is in the breasts, and guidance and mercy for the believers. (Surah Yunus, 57)

Allah tells us that the Qur’an is a book of counsel for all people, a guide to the straight path for sincere believers who respect His power, and a book that contains sublime wisdom and gives true knowledge of the past and the future. Its incomparable style pierces the veil that hides the human propensity for error. Since it is eternally valid, all believers are determined to follow its decrees and the Prophet’s (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) example.

The Qur’an is Al-Furqan, the distinguisher between right and wrong, truth and falsehood: “Right guidance has become clearly distinct from error” (Surat al-Baqara, 256). Therefore, believers do not try to find a middle road between its moral teachings and a life of ignorance; they follow only the Truth: the Qur’an.

Knowing that the Qur’an manifests His name All Merciful, Most Merciful and thus proves His endless mercy toward all people, they obey Allah’s command to cling to its moral teachings:

So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are on a straight path. It is certainly a reminder to you and to your people, and you will be questioned. (Surat az-Zukhruf, 43-44)

HEART MASSAGE

Many miraculous features of the Qur’an prove it is the word of Allah. Facts are revealed in the verses through the scientific facts, the descriptions of the past and the mathematical codes, that could never have been known to anyone at the time. In addition, developments that could never have been learned with the level of knowledge and technology of the time were also indicated in the verses of the Qur’an before the event.

The fact that some scientific facts we only attained with 20th and 21st-century technology were revealed in the Qur’an 1400 years ago is clear evidence that the Qur’an cannot be the work of any human being.

One of the verses that may be referring to the future is verse 73 of Surat al-Baqara:

Remember when you killed someone and violently accused each other of it, and Allah brought out what you were hiding. We said, ‘Hit him with part of it!’ In that way Allah gives life to the dead and He shows you His signs so that hopefully you will understand. (Surat al-Baqara, 72-73)

Among the meanings of the Arabic term “biba’diha,” translated as “with part of it” in the above verse, is “someone or some people.” In the context of that meaning, the verse may be a reference to heart massage, striking the chest from above, which makes it possible to restart the heart if it has stopped beating. (Allah knows the truth.)

The person to whom the massage is administered has the characteristics of a dead body; loss of consciousness, and the cessation of respiration and heartbeat. With our present-day knowledge, heart massage can be applied to someone whose heart has stopped, enabling heartbeat and vital functions to resume. Pressure is applied to the rib cage at specific intervals during heart massage, and the rhythmic contraction required for it to continue pumping blood is thus established.

In that context, the striking of a dead body in such a way as to restore it to life, as stated in the verse, may be suggestive of the heart massage technique. The Qur’an is the word of Almighty Allah, He Who creates all things from nothing, Whose knowledge enfolds all things, and Who is unfettered by time and space. Every verse of the Qur’an therefore contains information revealed with the wisdom of our Almighty Lord. In one verse, Allah refers to the Qur’an itself as follows:

... Will they not ponder the Qur’an? If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it. (Surat an-Nisa’, 82)
